Since 2017 the program in Los Angeles was offering placements only in the field of Media, and now it has joined to its sister cities of the AGBU Global Leadership Program and has expanded its reach and partners with a myriad of reputable organizations and institutions across multiple industries, including accounting, law, finance, graphic design, journalism to name a few.
The enriched program in Los Angeles provides a unique opportunity to local college students who are seeking an avenue to enter and grow in their field of interest. Placements allow professionals to build a diverse portfolio of connections and network which are some of the most valuable takeaways of the program.
Beyond their professional placements, the participants engage with other like-minded individuals and build strong bonds with their cohort. They also benefit from a formal mentorship program where they are matched with local AGBU Young Professionals (YP) based on their academic background and field industry. The participants partake in various professional development workshops and panel discussions led by accomplished and outstanding keynote speakers.
Throughout 8 weeks of the program, the participants are exposed to extra curriculum activities which are designed for them to explore and discover more in Los Angeles.
Having the largest Armenian community in the Diaspora, the GLP program in Los Angeles opens horizons for the students to be immersed into the rich Armenian culture. In order to strengthen their Armenian identity, deepen their knowledge and brace their connection with Armenia, the participants have weekly language and history classes, as well as virtual tours throughout Armenia and Artsakh with the AGBU Armenian Virtual College

In its first year, AGBU’s London Summer Internship Program promises an unforgettable and dynamic experience in one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals.
With a rich history and countless renowned traditions, London prides itself on being one of the world’s main financial hubs. Coined the world’s most influential city of 2014 by Forbes Magazine for its vast media and advertising sector, rich cultural life and impressive start-up culture, the city never stops buzzing with creativity and excitement.
AGBU has partnered with some of London’s most innovative companies to provide a wide range of internship placement opportunities throughout various sectors to introduce students to workplaces in their chosen fields. These include medical labs, investment banks, public relations companies, fashion houses, design studios, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and many more.
In additional to professional experiences, students will also be able to take a ride on the London Eye, tour historical landmarks including Big Ben, the Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Globe Theatre and see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. They will also have the chance to explore Covent Gardens, visit the Tate Modern and go shopping at Oxford Circus.
With endless opportunities to discover culture at every corner, enjoy pints at traditional British pubs, and visit one of London’s many famous tea rooms, the summer will be filled with unforgettable memories and the chance to build life-long friendship.
Since this is the first year of the program, interns will also have the unique occasion to become ambassadors of LSIP in years to come and pave the way for future interns.
LSIP interns will be staying at the International Students’ House. Located in the heart of Regent Park neighborhood of London, ISH is close to Baker Street station, Regent’s Park station or Great Portland Street station, close to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, Madam Tussaud’s and the Planetarium.
All interns will be place with a roommate and will be housed in the same complex. Here students can come together in the common area discuss events of the day.

The dormitories are located 10 walk from the South Kensington Underground Station, which allows for easy access to the entire city. An alternative to the underground is the bus system, which is also easily accessible from the dorms.
LSIP offers interns a selection of professional and social activities throughout England. The highlight of the program is a reception the home of the Armenian ambassador to the United Kingdom. Other activities range from a day in Oxford and an evening with the local Armenian dance group.
There will also be many activities revolving around career building. London YP group will lead workshops, discussing how to write an effective resume, how to prepare for an interview and how to become relevant in the job market through a social media presence. In addition, networking evenings will be arranged in order to help establish long-lasting relationships for students and the YP community.
